Drilling Fluids

CES has consistently grown market share in drilling fluids across both the U.S. and Canada — through downturns, recoveries, and every point of the cycle in between.

Production Chemicals

Comprehensive treatment programs addressing corrosion, scale, paraffin, H2S, emulsions, and biofouling – protecting wellbore and surface infrastructure while maximizing uptime and production economics. CES supports customers with on-site logistics, automated injection systems, and continuous program monitoring to ensure optimal performance.

Completion & Stimulation

Friction reducers, scale inhibitors, biocides, surfactants, clay stabilizers, and custom fluid systems optimized for high-volume hydraulic fracturing. CES completion chemistry is engineered for the performance demands of longer laterals, tighter cluster spacing, and higher-intensity completions – helping operators maximize production from every stage.

Pipelines & Midstream

Specialty chemical treatment programs for gathering lines, transmission pipelines, and processing facilities. CES delivers corrosion inhibitors, H2S scavengers, paraffin control agents, biocides, and flow assurance solutions tailored to the operating conditions and regulatory requirements of pipeline and midstream operators.

Specialty Blending And Logistics

Through Sialco Materials in Canada, and Jacam Catalyst in the U.S., CES provides premier specialty chemical manufacturing operating a state-of-the-art, multi-reaction facilities. These facilities specialize in high-temperature chemical synthesis, custom manufacturing, and toll processing. By bridging the gap between advanced R&D and commercial-scale production, CES delivers high-performance proprietary chemistries – including surfactants, polymers, and specialized additives – that support the most demanding requirements across the oil and gas, mining, and industrial sectors. With an unwavering commitment to quality and technical precision, CES transforms complex chemical challenges into scalable, reliable solutions.

Environmental Services

Through Clear Environmental Solutions, CES provides integrated waste, water, and environmental management for operators throughout the WCSB. Clear’s services span the complete project life-cycle – from environmental pre-planning and baseline assessments through active drilling, completions operations, and final site reclamation. By managing waste streams, water handling, and regulatory compliance as a single integrated service, Clear helps operators reduce environmental footprint, manage liability, and meet increasingly stringent regulatory requirements across Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Our manufacturing and research facilities are registered to ISO 9001:2015 – the internationally recognized standard for quality management systems – with Superior Weighting Products in Corpus Christi, Texas also earning API Q1 Registration, the first CES facility to achieve this designation.

ISO certification is not a box-checking exercise at CES – it reflects how we actually operate. Documented processes, rigorous batch quality control, and a culture of continual improvement ensure that every product leaving a CES facility meets the same high standard, whether it is shipped from Sterling, Kansas or Delta, British Columbia.

CES delivers leading technology advancements for drilling fluids, stimulation and completions, production, and pipeline and midstream markets through dedicated collaboration between its R&D centres and local laboratories, committed investment in research and development, and by leveraging third-party partner relationships that drive continued innovation in the consumable fluids and chemicals business.

Vertical Integration Manufacturing

Formulated, Manufactured, and Delivered by CES.

CES is not a distributor – we are a manufacturer. Vertical integration is one of the most important structural advantages in our business model. By formulating, reacting, blending, and delivering our own products, CES controls quality at every step, responds faster to customer needs, and eliminates supply chain dependencies that affect competitors who rely on third-party chemical suppliers.

Our primary U.S. manufacturing and reacting facility is located in Sterling, Kansas, with additional low-temperature reacting and blending capabilities near Midland, Texas, and chemical blending in Sonora, Texas. In Canada, CES has a manufacturing and reacting facility in Delta, British Columbia, with additional blending capabilities in Carlyle, Saskatchewan; Nisku, Alberta; and Grande Prairie, Alberta.

This integrated manufacturing network allows CES to maintain consistent product quality across geographies, scale production in response to customer demand, and rapidly bring new formulations from lab to field – all under quality management systems registered to ISO 9001:2015.
